Cargo Operations

Loading or discharging breakbulk cargo in a general cargo vessel is like a typical Indian wedding- organized chaos. You may have done detailed planning for weeks together and yet there may be some surprises waiting in ambush.

In a port, oil tankers come and go after discharging 200,000 tons of crude. Iron ore vessels load 100,000 tons of ore quietly. These giants seldom pose operational nightmares. But loading 5000 tons of heterogeneous cargo comprising of metal drums, cartons, crates, pallets, coils, bales, plastic cans, bags etc will test any operational expert his patience and knowledge.
